Sanyo's DMX-HD1000 | $1,000
The tiny, pistol-shaped device records 1080p (1920x1080 resolution),
saving the results in AVC format to SDHC flash cards. It has a 2.7" LCD monitor, HDMI, a 10x optical zoom lens and can shoot 8MP still shots.
The manufacturer claims it's the smallest camera of its class — I believe it — which makes the $1,000 price tag seem almost unbelievable. Perhaps it'll grow a little if and when this comes to America.
In the meantime, it'll be offered in Japan for ¥120,000, from September 2007
