Adobe Soundbooth
With an innovative user interface that makes short work of everyday tasks, Soundbooth is designed to work well next to Adobe® Premiere® Pro, Adobe® After Effects®, and Adobe® Flash® as well as other creative tools to make your audio flow smoothly with your video and Flash projects.

We're releasing a preview build now so that you can try it out early. After you give it a spin then come visit the Soundbooth discussion forum and let us know what you think! Whether you choose the beta for Intel-based Macs or Windows, we would love your feedback. Download now before the current Soundbooth beta expires on February 28, 2007, and make sure to grab the Soundbooth scores below for the AutoComposer feature.

What is the Soundbooth beta?
The Soundbooth beta gives creative professionals the chance to preview the newest audio application that delivers focused tools to quickly accomplish everyday audio tasks--even if audio production isn't your specialty. Fast and intuitive, Soundbooth makes it easy to remove noise from recordings, polish voiceovers, customize music to fit a production, and much more. And while Soundbooth removes the mystery from audio editing, cleanup, and finalization, enabling you to produce high quality audio tracks that add to your images, rather than distract from them.

Why both Adobe Audition and Adobe Soundbooth?
While Adobe Audition is designed to give audio professionals in music, film, video, and radio a flexible audio production toolkit that can handle a broad range of audio engineering tasks, Adobe Soundbooth is focused on creative professionals without audio expertise, or those who prefer an application focused on making short work of the most common tasks they handle every day. The tools in Soundbooth remove the mystery from editing while preserving superb sound quality.

Why a Soundbooth beta?
Two reasons: 1) We want to share the technology and direction soon so you can start using it right away and 2) we want to get feedback so we can make Soundbooth even better.

What's missing from the beta in this Adobe Labs preview?
Due to licensing restrictions the beta does not support all of the formats that the final release will, including MP3, MPEG-2, H.264, and FLV. Beyond that, we have a long list of features we would like to add before we're finished, but we want feedback about what you think is most important. Let us know what you'd like on the forums!

Will there be a PowerPC version?
No. Apple is quickly moving its focus towards Intel Macs, and no longer sells Power PC systems in many places. By focusing on Apple's future, we have been able to bring this powerful application to the Mac platform much more rapidly, and with a stronger feature set.
Visit the Adobe Intel Mac FAQ for more information.

When will you release Adobe Soundbooth?
We do not know yet, but we expect Soundbooth to be released sometime in the middle of 2007.

How much will it cost?
Pricing is to be determined.

Will Adobe Audition continue as a stand alone product?
Absolutely. Adobe Audition will still be available for anyone who focuses on audio, and the team is hard at work on it right now.
